There has been a lot of negativity about women and our issues recently. From #MeToo to various reports of gender pay gaps from Hollywood to the BBC. But are we missing the point?..is it just about about feminism, finding a voice and protesting in the streets - or does the true issue lie within?

I have been privileged to work with women for over 20 years. They have been from all backgrounds and from all levels of success and happiness. Their stories are compelling, fascinating and heart warming because a woman's resilience and ability to share and nurture is unlimited...but her tendency to hold herself back is epic and an epidemic.

So what is the answer? How can women end this slow climb to top and instead make a quantum leap forward? Is there an authentic sisterhood of support, or is that also a problem?

The barriers are not necessarily unconscious bias, glass ceilings or male bosses - I think we learn our limiting beliefs while we struggle with career clarity. What would it be like if we no longer felt we need to ask permission to be high flying divas, that we no longer cared what people thought of us and let go of trying to please everyone?

How powerful can women really become? How can we truly SHINE?
