Shine Swindon is a wonderful community group that supports mums who have experienced postnatal depression and other mental illnesses surrounding pregnancy, childbirth and parenting.

Our main offer is art therapy workshops, with peer support being a huge part of the healing process; however because these do eventually come to an end, we know that mums need and want the continued support from their peers.

As a response to this need, we set up a Shine On Drop-In group, which is a Thursday morning every other week at Western Community Centre on Somerset Road in Swindon. Mums drop in whenever they like between 9.30 and 11.30am and chat, drink lovely teas and coffees and eat delicious homemade cakes. They are in a safe place to talk and hopefully feel anle to relax a little for a couple of hours.

We are hoping to raise some money for these drop-ins so as to provide crafting materials for the mums to do whilst there and to take away and to pay for some of the room hire. We would also like to start a book sharing scheme which some funding would also help with.
