Story
John + Mike are gearing up to take as much urgent aid as they can carry out to Poland to help the ongoing humanitarian effort unfolding there - specifically to Jez Goodwin transporting supplies directly into Ukraine to those who need them.
***UPDATE*** if we can get an ambulance or two we'll stack those to the ceiling with supplies and drive them out there - from Jez in Ukraine:
"I saw a photo of a soldier trying to administer first aid to the father of a family of 5 after a morter attack, he was the only one with a pulse. We need this ambulance."
It's a ~2000 mile round-trip so here's how this fund-raiser works:
£500 gets us a car & trailer ticket for the Eurotunnel, ~£1200 gets us the tunnel plus the fuel and maybe a service-station sandwich, every further £1200 potentially gets us another round-trip as long as there's stuff that needs moving - every penny we don't spend on the trip costs will either be passed on to Jez to keep him moving over the border, used to buy supplies for the guys on the ground, or passed on to the many many charities and international organisations helping on the ground.
If there's not enough supplies to make the trip worthwhile, or someone turns up with a big truck to take it all for us, we'll donate the proceeds as above. This is all about getting the ball rolling NOW to see how everything pans out.
The good people at Viables Community Centre in Basingstoke have volunteered to act as the collection point for any donations but PLEASE only donate useful stuff that's on the urgent wish-list. We want to make the maximum impact with this trip.
