Story

We are a partnership of two local charities (Sewa Day Nottingham and Communities Working Together) who have been running a Christmas shoebox appeal for the last 3 years. We collect and distribute donations to vulnerable people in our community who would otherwise go without at Christmas time.

Last year, we wrapped, packed, and distributed over 1300 shoeboxes to vulnerable people in our community. The gifts went out to homeless people, young carers, refugees, care leavers, children on free school meals, survivors of domestic violence and teenagers in need, among many others.

We appeal to people and businesses in our local community to donate items and wrap shoeboxes so that those without can receive a gift at Christmas. Any money donated here will go to buying items that we are short of, which typically has been items for our mens and womens shoeboxes. This year, we have 1500 shoeboxes to fill, so every little bit helps, and no donation is considered too small.

The boxes will be wrapped and distributed on 9th and 10th December, and we are appealing for donations before 5th December. If you would like to get involved in other ways, such as donating your own shoebox, helping on the packing & distributing weekend, or purchasing items from our Amazon wishlist, please follow this link:
