This is my story...
Being a dedicated optimist is hard work – not for the faint-hearted – and there have been periods in my life when the work of happiness has been just too hard. I’m doing the Clipper Round the World Race as part of my journey back to mental health. Being surrounded by nature is where I feed the wild woman inside me...that intuitive, instinctual part of me that is strong and empowered. You cannot be more surrounded by nature than on a 21m boat on the open ocean. You cannot be more empowered than by harnessing nature to take you to amazing new places. MIND helped me to get here so I've chosen them as the charity to partner with in fundraising over the next year. I want to ensure they can support others who have gone (or are still going) through their own journey.
