Story

In January 2020 we will be travelling approximately 3,700 miles (6,000 kilometres) in 8 weeks across Africa from Namibia to Kenya, using a Series III Land Rover, which will be supported by a Discovery 3. So far we have raised over £1,200 towards the cause.

The aim of the trip is to raise funds to support the Onesimus Good News Boys Centre in Kikambala, near Mombasa, Kenya, which was built by Scouts from across Staffordshire between 2013 and 2016.

The Centre is for street boys, and provides care and education for 25 to 30 boys, regardless of religion, ethnicity or background and is run by the Non-Government Organisation Shoulder 2 Shoulder International, which is a non-profit organisation committed to create opportunities and empower vulnerable children and youth in Mombasa.

We need your support to raise funds to help support the boys with their daily living costs, education and enable the Centre to become self sufficient through agricultural projects to sell goods to local markets and businesses.

Further information about our trip is available on social media as our plans progress to our successful arrival of the convoy at the Boys Centre on our website www.shoulder2shoulderoverland.co.uk or email info@shoulder2shoulderoverland.co.uk for further information.
