In the early hours of April 7th 2018, the life of one of the most beautiful souls on earth was cut short at only 24 years old. Kevin Chang was hit by a car on a road outside his house, resulting in his tragic and unjust death. In this time of immeasurable loss, we are all grieving our unique, genius and hilarious friend, who truly was one of a kind.

In this darkest of times, our priority is to try do what we can to ease the burden on his family. Kevin leaves behind an amazing sister who is currently in her last year of university, with three weeks until her final exams. He is also sorely missed by his beloved parents, both of which live in Taiwan, and had to find out this unbearable news from afar.

In the most difficult time of their lives, Kevin's death has incredibly expensive consequences - in terms of flights to the UK, employing an undertaker, preparing funerals in both England/Taiwan, legal costs etc. To give context, flights for two people to fly over from Taiwan at such short notice will cost £2,000 alone. With the colossal grief their family is experiencing, the last thing they should ever have to worry about is the financial impact.

As the community who deeply loved and cared about Kevin, this is the time to truly band together and show our support, through doing what we can for his family. Whilst monetary support can't bring him back, this is a tangible way of expressing your care to directly help. These funds will be gifted to his parents to show them how much we loved Kevin, and to try lessen the colossal costs that sadly come with making arrangements for the death of a loved one. PLEASE NOTE - this is absolutely not something his parents have asked us to do, but rather something we as those who loved Kevin have organised organically as an expression of our support.

If you were lucky enough to know Kevin, you will know the positivity, intellect and passion he gave this world - including the deep and varied friendships he maintained, as well as the countless causes he strived for in his unwavering dream of social justice.

Kevin - the witty, intelligent and most full of life character we had the greatest privilege of meeting - gave us so much, in so many ways. It's now our turn to give back. Please find it in your heart to donate however much you can - every bit will help.
