Story

In November 2023, I am booked on my very first dental volunteering mission with SmileStar Charity to Kenya, East Africa with a group of dentists and dental nurses from the UK. We will be providing free, quality dental care to disadvantaged areas in two remote communities in Kenya; Mweiga and Kibos. At the same time as providing this invaluable dental care, I want to personally do something more to help others.

With your donation, my mission is to provide a nutritious meal to as many children as possible in Kenya. Every pound or dollar you contribute will go directly towards ensuring that a child's plate is filled with a meal to fuel not just their bodies but also their dreams.

Helping others is something that has been ingrained in my life through the family values and beliefs of both of my late parents. My mother was born in Eldoret, Kenya and my father was born in Bugiri, Uganda. My upcoming mission to Kenya for the first time as a dental volunteer has sparked something inside me to make a deeper impact. As well as being a dentist, many of you that know me personally will know that I also share a deep-rooted love of reggae. Who would have thought that a reggae DJ and dentist go together!

Being a dentist and loving reggae music share a common theme about helping others and togetherness (just think of 'One Love' by Bob Marley & The Wailers - voted song of the century by the BBC in 1999).

In the heart of Kenya, in villages like Mweiga, countless young lives are marked by the shadows of food insecurity. The children of Kenya deserve a future free from hunger. With your support, we can provide them not only with meals but with the confidence that comes from knowing they're valued and supported. Let's come together, across borders and backgrounds, to nourish not just their bodies but also their dreams. Your donation doesn't just provide a meal; it uplifts entire communities. By supporting local farmers and businesses, we're fostering growth from within.

In a world marked by disparities, I see it as a way to bridge the gap and create a more just and compassionate society. By extending a helping hand, we acknowledge that our fortunes come with a responsibility to uplift others. It's a reminder that we are interconnected, regardless of our religion, beliefs or circumstances, and that our actions have the potential to ignite positive change. Giving back not only provides immediate relief but also inspires hope, restores dignity, and paves the way for a brighter future for individuals and communities in need. It's an investment in a world where compassion is the currency that truly enriches us all.

Your contribution, no matter the size, makes an impact. Every pound or dollar you give translates into a nutritious meal for a child in need.

Please spread the Word and share my campaign with friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we're sowing the seeds of hope and changing lives, one meal at a time.

"One love

One heart

Let's get together and feel alright"
