India has been devastated by drowning accidents which account for almost 23% of the world’s drowning toll, around 80 people drown everyday because they do not know how to swim; and more than 150,000 yearly in India.
India gives relatively low priority to safety in comparison to other countries. Consequently, 80% of people that drown are children under the age of 18.
Yash created the non-profit organisation Shrishtiindia in order to help Indian's children in need. His goal is to be able to offer free-swimming lessons to governmental and private schools in the area of Mangalore (Karnataka state).
Srishtiindia’s approach is unique, practical and highly adaptive to school’s needs. We intend on providing a portable swimming pool which could easily be installed in schools with sufficient outdoor space.
A portable pool reduces running costs and allow us to provide swimming classes to more children at no cost.
Help us investing in our first swimming pool and we will be forever grateful!
