Story
We run friendly and professional karate clubs and pride ourselves on producing a traditional form of Karate-do, which places great emphasis on the development of the character of the student as well as the technical ability. Promoting Respect, Discipline and Etiquette. In the short time our club has been open, we've successfully produced 19 black belts and had competition success international, national and here at home; where we won 10 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze in the Welsh open September 2016. We are proud members of the Shitō-Ryū Shūkōkai Union (SSU) U.K, which is the U.K. branch of a worldwide Karate organisation known as: The Shitō-Ryū Shūkōkai Union (S.S.U.). As such we have close ties with the origins of Shitō-Ryū Shūkōkai in Japan.
Some of our students have been fortunate enough to have receive an invitation to the Yamada Gishinkan Cup in Japan in March 2018. To train and compete with Soke Yamada Haruyoshi - 10th Dan (World Chief Instructor.) This is a great honour for the students and a fabulous opportunity for them.
Our club is totally funded by the students, parents and club fundraising so in order for as many of this talented bunch of young people to have this amazing opportunity as possible we are hoping to raise funds to pay for accommodation, equipment, training and competition fees. The students will also be self funding their flights and any other additional costs. .
The students at our club come from a range of backgrounds and karate has inspired and motivated them to be the best they can be. That is why the club want to support as many of those invited as possible to attend.
