Sheffield Hallam University’s womens lacrosse team and mens rugby union team are holding and participating in a charity fundraiser lacrosse match to raise money for The Danny Porter Foundation.

Dan Porter, Head of Sports Services, and Sheffield Hallam Alumnus recently passed away following a long battle with cancer. For two decades, Dan was the driving force for the development of sport and physical activity at Sheffield Hallam. He was inspirational to all at hallam with everything he did, especially to rugby union who have held numerous charity events for the foundation over the past few years. After his first diagnosis, Dan set up the Danny Porter Foundation raising over £250k for good causes. In 2016, he was honoured with an MBE for services to Education and Fundraising. By holding this event, we are hoping to honour his memory and continue the amazing work he did, within the community and within his charity.
