I've raised £10000 to fund Xavi's ongoing therapy

Our gorgeous boy, Xavi, had a tough start to life, on delivery he suffered a skull fracture and lack of oxygen which led to a brain bleed and permanent brain damage, he was resuscitated for 19 minutes and spent the first 6 weeks of his life in intensive care. He now has cerebral palsy, general development delay, epilepsy and feeding problems.
We have recently enrolled Xavi on a clinical trial at Duke University where he will be receiving 3 rounds of stem cell therapy with the view that this will improve his gross motor skills (standing, walking etc) and hopefully see improvements in other areas ie communication.
We have been raising money to fund the four trips we need to make to the US and we also need to make sure we have enough left over to provide intensive therapies when we come home to maximise the benefits of the Stem Cells.
We know there is no magic cure for Xavi’s brain injury, but we really believe that the more we do in terms of therapy in these crucial early years the more chance he has of his brain rewiring and building new pathways, this could greatly improve his quality of life as he gets older and help him learn skills that he otherwise wouldn’t have gained.
We have already seen big improvements from HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) and we believe that in a lot of cases the young brain is capable of much more healing than we are led to believe.
We would be really grateful for any fundraising ideas or donations to help us reach our goal.
Thank you
Sian and Mark xx
