    Story

    Nepal Trek

As part of raising money I am undertaking a trek in Nepal in November. Over the next few months, myself and 29 other work colleagues from Computershare are aiming to raise over £120,000.

All money raised will be given to World Youth International, who our company charity Change a Life are supporting. We are raising funds to build a hostel for children to stay in while they attend school.

As a school Governor and trustee and a mother of 3 children, I know the impact a good education can have which is why I am so pleased to be able to support this fantastic cause.

    Help me smash my target!

The Computershare cycle ride went well despite the high winds and rain. Everyone made it back (eventually) and we only had to send a search party for a few... Some struggled up Cheddar Gorge, while others were reported to be racing up and down it several times just for fun! The HR team were MIA for a while, only to be found in a cafe eating sausage rolls and drinking tea... Sponsorship is still being counted but we expect this to have raised over £7000...

Practice walks are starting to pick up a bit - two walks in one weekend and a total of 23k walked... The slight incline at the end of day 2 almost broke me! Not sure what state I am going to be in after a couple of days at altitude... My alternative plan of getting in the bag and being carried doesnt look to be a go'er - maximum weight of about 10kg... not sure I am going to be able to lose 1000kg in time to hit that weight goal!
