Story

Hi everyone!

On the 9th of September we will be competing in ***Rough Runner***

The reason for this is to raise money for Sickle Cell Unite, a cause that is so close to our hearts. SCU was founded by our friend Sarah who lives with sickle cell. She started this organisation to raise awareness for sickle cell as there is not enough attention on what is a horrible illness to live with. With the funds we raise, we will be able to get awareness out there in more ways than one and will also will be helping those living with the illness. Sickle cell unite's aim is to help grant wishes for younger patients living with sickle cell and to distribute funds to other charities in need. So any amount you can afford will be greatly appreciated.

What is sickle cell? Sickle cell is the most common blood condition in the UK . People with sickle cell have sickled shaped cells unlike the normal shape of round cells. This then makes it hard to flow around the bloodstream and deliver oxygen to vital organs. This also cause traffic jams which then cause excruciating pain. Sickle cell is a horrible illness to live with so we would love to better the lives of those who suffer from it.
