Story

Sikh NHS staff who fail the ppe mask "fit test" are at risk of being asked to remove their beard. Or be redeployed elsewhere at work. Five Sikh consultant Doctors who had failed the fit test were supported by the Sikh Doctors Association. We enabled the Doctors to engage with their Trust and vocalise the compelling case for maintaining the sanctity of the beard for a Sikh. Lack of appropriate ppe has meant some doctors have had to be redeployed to lesser roles whilst their needs are met. This has caused distress and stress within their departments. We want to avoid this predicament by offering what they need to work safely and at their best - PAPR - free of charge to the NHS staff in need.
