Dear friends and family,
I am about to do something I never thought I could or would.. I am going to enter a half Iron man (or a 70.3 as it is known), a gruelling 1.9km swim, followed by a 90km bike ride finishing off with a half marathon of 21.1km, I am not sure how long it will take, but the cut off is 9 hours.. I am asking people to dig deep because, I am not raising for charity, I will be raising money for my niece and their family, who has so badly been let down by OUR government and professional bodies, all money donated will go to her and my brother-in-law to use as they see fit, whether it be for treatment for my niece, or help towards getting their own home again what they as a family have been through, can only be described as Hell, and I pray no-one I know has to go through what they have and are going through, I have run marathons, and triathlons in the name of charity, now I am racing for my family pure and simple. Call me selfish, but when a 10 year old little girl, wants to kill herself by sitting in the middle of a road and waiting for a car to run her over or grab a knife and harm her parents, or just simply say I wish to die, something needs to be done, too many professional people have sat by, passed the buck, and done nothing to assist a family who desperately so need it, SO help me raise awareness to their cause &, I am literally begging every single person I know, to dig deep., & sponsor me, this is the last time I will ever ask anyone to sponsor me for an event, so help me go out on a high please. They are not after sympathy & have never asked for it, they just want to be able to help their daughter, it’s all they have ever wanted!!! PLEASE help me, help them. A day of pain for me is nothing compared to a life of torment that they go through every single day, living on a knife edge.
