Story

I have decided to do the Run for Shannon on the 7th of October. I will be running a mile of the relay, which may not sound like much for some people but for someone who has never run before will make it chalenging for me. I would really like to have your support in rasing the money so that we can help Shannon.

Please do the gift aid if you are a tax payer as it all helps.

Run For Shannon is an event that aims to mobilise 60 local volunteers to run a 60 mile relay from the LifePoint Centre in Swansea all the way to Shannon's home in Pembrokeshire. We want to deliver her a special therapeutic Mollii suit which uses low frequency electro-stimulation to enhance the body’s neurological reflexes. In trials this has made a huge difference to Shannon and will significantly improve her quality of life.

Currently Mollii suits are not available on the NHS so we thought that together we could provide this life changing equipment.

Each of the 60 participants, many of whom are new to running, will complete one of the 60 miles until the baton and the suit arrive at Shannon's home late on Saturday 7th October. As well as the 60 runners, members of the LifePoint ladies running club will be running 5 miles each to accompany the relay runners. Members of Equinox Physiotherapy Partnership Ltd, who have played a vital role in Shannon's care will be assisting on the day to support the runners. A team of drivers from LifePoint Church will make sure that each runner is dropped off at their relay position and returned home after completing their mile.

Your generous donation will be added to sponsorship money raised by the runners to help us reach our target of £3200 so please give all that you can via the following link
