Story
Fundraise for Simon Ellis who helped PC Lisa Bates
Simon Ellis is the member of public who pulled PC Lisa Bates to safety when she sustained serious injuries after attending a domestic incident in Gleadless Valley in April last year.
We believe Lisa’s life was almost certainly saved by Simon Ellis, who came out of his flat and assisted Lisa into the safety of his flat.
At the time for legal reasons, we were unable to do anything for Simon Ellis to show our appreciation until the conclusion of the trial process. That process has now concluded and whilst we are aware that this incident has had a significant impact on Simon’s life, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Simon and as token of our appreciation we are fundraising for him.
Simon Ellis also received a Humanitarian award at the Sheffield awards ceremony last month for his actions.
We are seeking £1000 that will be used to help decorate and furnish Simon's flat to help replace some items that were lost or damaged when he had to move as a result of the incident. We would also like to place him on a more secure footing and allow him to live quietly and comfortably.
