Story
So I’ve entered my first cycling time trial on Saturday 30th September! (event postponed from 9th Sept due to weather) OK, so it’s only a 10 mile route but I’ll will be pushing myself to the limit out of respect for Julian Jenkinson, a man who pushed himself in every single mile throughout his life!
I was lucky enough to know Julian, a remarkable man who excelled in sport, academia, business, and just being a bloody good bloke!
British Ironman record holder for 13 years in a time of 8 hours 15 minutes, Best British All-Round Cyclist in 2010, and National 12 hour Champion covering 275 miles, some simply mind-boggling stats!
He was one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met and his death in March last year was a great loss to so many people at the age of just 48.
Research continues in to the effect of long term endurance training on the heart and every penny raised from the Julian Jenkinson memorial time trial will help fund this important research to help reduce heart failure in athletes who spent their lives staying healthy.
