Story

I am a regular fund raiser for a children’s charity, Forest Pulse, organising concerts with the local Male Voice Choir I sing with. Obviously we are unable to meet due to Covid and I have taken to walking to lose weight and improve my mental well being. I thought I could highlight this and raise funds at the same time. Normal fund raising activities for the charity have been curtailed and I helped them last year raising £1495 by having my head shaved. I will walk twenty miles through the Forest on Saturday July 3rd despite having an arthritic knee (which is on the long waiting list to be replaced ) ending up at the HQ of the Charity who will be there to greet me. The Charity is very dear to me as it provides essential support to disabled children and their families across the Forest of Dean where I live. The first £500 raised will be match funded.

I am doing the walk in three laps with only a short coffee break between laps one and two. I hope to be joined by family and friends for some of the journey but lap one is likely to be done alone as it will be a very early start. I will be taking photographs to evidence the journey along the way. Any support would be hugely appreciated and will go a very long way.
