HELP VETERANS BY SUPPORTING MY EXTREME CHALLENGE
I am Simon Conroy and I love extreme challenges but also want to support veterans and their families who are struggling with severe stress. I have seen the effect this has on families and I know that Rock2Recovery helps them enormously. They literally do what their strap line says:
Saving lives - changing lives
I served for 22 years as a PTI (Physical Training Instructor) in HM Royal Marines and in my retirement I now work as a freelance International Mountain Leader and Ski Instructor. One of my main passions is Trail Running of which I now guide Ultra distance trail running trips for International clients predominately in the Alps.
TOR DES GEANTS ULTRA RACE - 8-15 SEP 19
After completing the very first Tot Dret race in 2017 (photos shown below)... i have decided this year to run in the world famous Tor des Géants Endurance Ultra race in the Aosta valley, Italy from 8-15 September. This has been recognized as one of the longest and hardest Ultra Trails in the world with a distance of 330km ( 8 x Marathons ) with an overall ascent and descent of 24,000m ( 2.5 x height of Everest from sea level ) over a period of 150 hours non stop.
