What a fantastic day and massive thanks to all those who helped organise and support the riders who rode in memory of Simon he would have been incredibly proud of what was achieved bring people and friends together and raising a fantastic amount of money for a great cause in memory of him
A special shout out to all those who put in an enormous amount of effort behind the scenes making this happen, route planning, providing the kit, the food/ fuel stops especially at Rudys, amazing! all the support crew / cars with 4 spare bikes just in case and 3 of which were put into action along with 6 punctures and a snapped chain, so it was an eventful day but everyone returned back safe and sound to an amazing community welcome and a well earned pint and BBQ, we even had one of the NOBS doing a ride in Portugal who couldn't join us on the day !!
Youth Sport Trust which was a charity that Simon Jones one of Northop Cricket Club (NCC) members had a passion for being a keen amateur sportsman throughout his life which tragically was cut short in October 2025.
Simon was a season ticket holder at both Manchester United and Wrexham FC and was also a great supporter of Northop Cricket Club. Simon had 3 children Ffion & Connie and son Henry who plays in the under 13’s and also represents Airbus playing football, following in his fathers footsteps as a promising star of the future!!
The Northop Old Boys ( NOBS) are a cycling group attached to NCC and Simons brother in law Stevie Greig is a keen sportsman and cyclist too and his fellow cyclists are going to pay homage to Simon and cycle in one day to all 3 of Simon’s favourite sports venues

Wrexham FC back to Northop CC

Start Saturday 6th June -6am estimated duration 9/10 hours
