I've raised £3000 to assist me in completing my year at the National Opera Studio.

This is not a sob story and I absolutely do not expect my friends and peers to pay my way through this year. I know how lucky I am to have these opportunities afforded to me, and I am so grateful to everyone and everything that has led to this moment.
I am fundraising in Northern Ireland by offering workshops in various places, in order to pass on what I know to aspiring singers from my home country. Hopefully advertising for these fundraisers is what brought you to this page! It's the best way I can think of to give back to the place that has given, and continues to give me so much. This page is primarily for people who would love to attend the workshop or participate in it, or attend the associated showcase concert (in which I will be performing alongside the workshop participants) but for one reason or another are unavailable, and would like to show their support in another way.
I'm a mezzo-soprano from Belfast, who trained at the RCM for six years. I am heavily involved in the Northern Irish (and wider Irish) classical music scene, and have done all I can so far in my fledgling career to promote opera and classical music in Northern Ireland and further afield.
I have just begun working as a Young Artist on the National Opera Studio programme for this academic year, and am already having a ball! Anyone who knows this course will be aware of its intense requirements and how difficult it would be to juggle a part-time job at the same time. Even to teach privately proves difficult as the NOS timetable is so full and constantly changing.
I'm already very lucky in that all of the tuition (bar singing lessons) I will receive this year is completely paid for, and I have brilliant accommodation. I have saved some money myself and have another small amount of funding, however I am in the process of fundraising in order that I can spend 100% of my time this year focused on becoming the best artist I can be. Added to this, my recent change in vocal fach (from soprano to mezzo) has meant taking a step back from performances, which has had a detrimental effect on my income.
Thank you for taking the time to read this - any amount you can spare is so appreciated, and please leave a message so I know who you are!
