Story
Every year children from less fortunate backgrounds go hungry throughout the school holidays. This year COVID-19 hit the population meaning even more families are facing difficult and uncertain times. The UK government have failed to provide these families and children with essential support to ensure that they will not go without food over the autumn and winter months. So much so that they stated in parliment that food wasn't 'essential'!!!! Every child deserves a hot meal, especially during the cold months! Thats why its down to us to stand up and help our own at a time that its so desperately needed!
Freddie, the child who despises walking and will do anything to avoid it, is going to be walking 20,000 steps (at least) in one week in hope to raise money for children who will go hungry over the holidays.
His hope is that he will raise money so that families will be able to have access to meals during this difficult time. Depending on the amount he raises the money will most likely go to a food bank or possibly his school, where there are many children living in low income families due to illness, covid-19 etc, so that the school can provide families with essentials to get them through upcoming holidays.
Freddie will start his sponsored walk on Wednesday 29th October.
×20,000 steps may not seem a lot but it is for a 9 year old who will do anything to avoid it. It takes courage for any child to do something like this to raise money so please be considerate and if you can, please dig deep for this great cause! Help a hungry child and their family!×
