Story

Thank you for visiting our page and taking the time to learn about our cause.

We are the SKE Parkinson’s Group, a local branch of Parkinson's UK, and we support people living with Parkinson’s Disease.

Our team of volunteers organizes various activities such as social events, exercise classes, singing sessions, and outings to enhance the lives of our members.

Our current goal is to raise £1,500 for our local Parkinson's group in order to provide essential support and Speech Therapy to those facing challenges with speaking and swallowing.

Losing the Ability to Communicate and Swallow with Ease

Many individuals with Parkinson’s experience difficulties in speaking clearly and swallowing with ease, which can be isolating and disempowering. By offering speech coaching and therapy sessions, we aim to improve their communication abilities and capacity for swallowing.

However, speech therapy is often out of reach for many of our members due to its cost. So we are seeking your support to help us fund regular group sessions over the coming months.

Qualified Speech Therapists

Your generous contribution will directly impact the lives of those affected by Parkinson's by enabling us to hire a qualified speech coach for twice monthly sessions until the end of the year. The difference this makes is exceptional - it restores confidence, reduces isolation, and empowers individuals who feel they have lost their voice in society.

Making a Difference

With your help, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our members. Every pound counts towards providing vital support and therapy that will bring hope and empowerment to those affected by Parkinson's.
