Story

Every year 30,000 people in the United Kingdom die from out of hospital sudden cardiac arrests. Recent figures published by the London Ambulance Service show that when a public accessed defibrillator was used by a bystander and one shock delivered the survival rate was 5x higher. Despite their importance it still remains luck as to whether there is one nearby when someone suffers an unexpected cardiac arrest.

Recently during Euro 2020 many will have seen/heard about Christian Eriksen the Danish player who collapsed on the pitch and had a cardiac arrest. Due to the swift actions by the medical staff he underwent early defibrillation and fortunately survived.

As a result on 2nd October myself, Matt Gwillam and Chels Callaghan will be completing a ski, row and assault bike marathon respectively to raise money towards funding installation and availability of these life saving machines. We have set a goal of £2,000 but any additional money we make will go towards funding as many of the machines as possible.
