Dr Mikael Sodergren is embarking on his first ever cross country skiing race - having never set foot on cross-country skis until a few weeks ago!

But Vasaloppet isn't just any ski race, it is the world’s biggest ski race! Mikael will ski 90km's to raise money for The Sapphire Medical Foundation, with the mission to reduce the financial barriers of access to medical cannabis.

Whilst the NHS funded medical cannabis for 3 out of the 4 conditions that were recently assessed, the vast majority of patients still need to pay for prescriptions. The Sapphire Medical Foundation was established to provide financial assistance to those patients who may clinically benefit the most and do not have the financial means to access these medications.
