Story

Women go through a lot as wives, in raising children and in their daily activities. They get stressed for a number of reasons, stress from their marriages, stress from raising the children they love, stress from work or some illness, stress from child birth and through the pregnancy period.

Most of the time women are left to cater for children single handedly and are forced to become single parents.

Studies done by Havard Medical School in 2007 proved that Knitting Induces the relaxation response and lowers the heart rate by an average of 11 beats per minute.

Other researches report Knitting to be as relaxing as yoga and crafts to be therapeutic. (Reducing Pressure & Anxiety, distracting from Chronic pain, Increasing a sense of Well-being, Reducing Loneliness and Isolation and finally Increasing sense of usefulness and inclusion in society).

Above all we want to use Vocational Skills to empower women to be financially stable and to increase the number of women in self employment. We will encourage our beneficiaries to use the acquired skill to start a small business that will help make extra money for the home.

We aim at using Craft to reduce stress in the lives of women as well as reduce the demand on the NHS, since craft is known to lower blood pressure, reduce depression and improve well-being.

The Money raised will be used to buy materials and tools for training, pay for tuition and also for venue.

Tuition cost for 20 Beneficiaries for three months - £10,080
Venue cost for three months - £2000
Tools and materials for three mnth- £1666

A grand total of £13,746 is required to train 20 beneficiaries for three months.
Classes will be done 3 times in a week. 2hours each day.

There will be 1 training instructor and 3 volunteers during each training session.
There will be tea, biscuits and cakes at each session. The idea is to create a relaxed environment for healling, achievement and effective training.
