Skilled Hands is an community, women-empowering focused organisation dedicated to helping people learn and develop practical, creative skills that open doors to new opportunities.

Through our hands-on workshops and accessible training - we create a space where people can grow their abilities, build confidence and turn their talents into meaningful pathways forward. We are raising money to expand this mission by offering even more support to women in our community.

Every contribution you make, helps Skilled Hands uplift women and strengthen the local community through creativity, confidence, and community.

This £5000 aim will essentially fund around more than 10 people to be able to participate and grow their skills in dress-making, millinery and our other various workshops - which means a lot to us at Skilled Hands.

Started as a beneficiary now a passionate volunteer - Emma Piper has gone on to create her own small business, Little Robin Threads because of the work we do at Skilled Hands.

Emma had never touched a sewing machine, prior to Skilled Hands however from a learner to a business owner - her dedication, passion and right support, has led her to discover her talent for design and craftsmanship.

Skilled Hands isn't just an organisation; it is essentially a catalyst for change.

→ In creating and developing more workshops - so that women and girls can access free craft workshops, helping them build confidence and practical skills

→ Supporting pathways into economic empowerment - people who join us have the possibility of starting businesses, turning their creative skills into sustainable livelihoods.

→ Strengthening community wellbeing - we are always creating safe and supportive spaces for women in Nottingham to learn and connect.
