We are Skipton Refugee Support Group, a member of the Cities of Sanctuary Movement. We are moved by compassion for all those who have fled their countries to escape war and persecution, and we are determined to do what we can to help. We provide practical and financial support to families settled in Skipton under the government's resettlement scheme; we collect household goods for refugee organisations in other towns and cities in Yorkshire; we arrange talks, theatre presentations and other events - even cookery demonstrations and quiz nights! - to raise awareness of the needs of refugees in the UK and abroad. All funds raised will be used to support the Skipton families and other local refugee organisations.
