Story
I'm hoping to raise £2,000 by Abseiling 100 metres down the Spinnaker in Portsmouth, for the Community work in Eastbourne of The Salvation Army and The Beachy Head Chaplaincy.
I will be Abseiling on Saturday 22nd August 2026

Pauline worked for The Salvation Army for many years and now retired still oversees the Friday Meals for the Homeless & Vulnerable, The Healthy Breakfast with Showers and Drop-in for Medical Services and Housing Support for Rough Sleepers on a Friday morning and in the winter months she is one of the Managers of the The SWEP Nightshelter ensuring that on the coldest nights everyone has a bed. Ensuring a helping hand and a listening ear are always available to those in need.
Pauline is also a Beachy Head Chaplain and part of the Chaplaincy Team that ensures that people in crisis on Beachy Head are not alone at the edge. Every day, the chaplains walk the clifftops, ready to stand with those whose lives hang in the balance - more than one person each day. Behind each, is a name, a story, a life, a second chance.
