Story
We are raising money to support the development of a majestic 18th century barn into a residential, creation and workshop space for theatrical performing artists. Based in the Alde Valley, a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Suffolk, the barns will provide facilities to enable performing artists to focus freely on the creation of new, revelatory theatre. The long term project, sees purpose built workshops for set, costume and mask creation also.
The threefold vision:
~ a rehearsal and creation space for the resident theatre company and affiliates
~ a venue for theatre workshops and the development of a conservatory
~ a retreat for performance companies/artists to develop work
The barn will also host intimate performances for the local community and beyond, reaching areas that lack access to theatre arts..."
The barns will be a space of artistic exchange where both visiting artists and the surrounding community-members inspire each other and deepen their imagination of what is possible in the world.
The aim of this funding is for the development of the concept drawings for planning and funding bodies, and will see the project well and truly launched!

Wonderful evening on Saturday. Creating a theatre space was a dream I once had which was never fulfilled. I so hope you manage to make it work.
