Story

I will be doing a 10km bear crawl on day 1, have one days rest and then be attempting to squat 1 million kg in 5 days (200,000kg a day) for the charity Slaughterhouse Survivors (www.harbinshs.com). Here is why I am doing this:

China is the biggest contributor to the dog meat trade in Asia. Over 30,000,000 dogs a year are killed for the consumption of humans, despite it being an illegal trade.

They are kept in terrible conditions and often have horrific diseases and injuries, an underground industry without any regulations. There are no dog meat farms in China, with dog meat being illegal, yet it is still happening.

Pet dogs are stolen, abandoned or sold into the trade. Breeders sell unwanted or sick "stock" for meat so they don't lose money. Stray dogs are taken off the street to be used. Many of these dogs knew love, had a home, and then in a flash of an eye it was gone and they are about to be horrifically tortured and brutally killed.

Puppies, elderly dogs, sick dying dogs, healthy dogs, the meat trade has no boundaries.

Slaughterhouse Survivors is a charity based in China, Harbin, who rescue dogs all over China and find them forever homes in the UK and US. They perform rescue missions throughout China, and get dogs back to full health, paying for operations, medical bills, medicine, food and everything the dogs need. Along with trying to close as many of the illegal markets, traders and slaughterhouses down for good. This is raising money to help Slaughterhouse Survivors to continue to fight the dog meat trade in China and find these dogs the forever homes they deserve and help the dogs get the urgent medical care they need to stay alive.
