Hey everyone,

As some of you may know, on Christmas Day 2024 the shop's shutters lost power and I was unable to open up for the planned Christmas celebration. On Boxing Day I managed to get a company out to take a look at the shutters. Turns out that due to the age of the shutters, and the lack of brackets on the end to prevent them moving side to side, they sliced clean through the cable which powers the motor to roll them up and down. The old motor also had no override or hand crank system to manually open them.

The company spent a few hours here and managed to swap out the motor, but this is only a temporary solution. At some point the whole shutters will need to be replaced, but that's for another time!

I really don't like asking for help, especially financial help over Christmas, but I can't see any other option. Unfortunately my insurance does not cover the shutters (I'll be changing that ASAP!) and so I'm turning to the wonderful people out in the world: you.

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated, and will enable me to pay the rent, keep the lights on and make sure Sliced n Diced continues.
