I would love to make an app based on the things that I wished I learnt during/ after high school which I had not given much thought to about and neither had my school. This app will be the little helping hand to any teenagers and young adults that are feeling stuck or confused whether it is about mental health, signs and warnings of abusive relationships, what tax is, how money works, whether apprenticeships are better than going to college or sixth form, and how to achieve their goals. It is important that young adults and teenagers learn life changing information before being thrown into the deep end into “the big wide world” and if you have no direction then it can be a very confusing and scary place. It matters to me as I was in that situation after I left sixth form. I didn’t know whether I wanted to get an apprenticeship, a job, go back into college or go to uni. In school or even sixth form we were never taught what an apprenticeship can do for us or whether a job would be more beneficial or even how much money we can earn being young than eighteen. I had been confused for a while, jumping from job to job, as when I got a job it wasn’t what I enjoyed, and instead of sticking with a job for the sake of earning money. I believe that we should all give teenagers the chance to read up on it, whether to be in school, at home or on a bus, an app that provides them with them with advice, tips and information to help them choose what they feel is for them, or something that they would like to do.
