I've raised £2000 to Raise awareness and funds for local mental health charities Mind Basildon and Mind South East Essex Branch.

A group of us including: Chris Hobart (Brother), Ricky Donovan (Rich's Best friend) Rob Hobart (Uncle) Simon Bender (Friend) Jill and Gary Hollis (Friends) are climbing to the top of Mount Snowdon in Richard Hobart's memory on July 7th 2018.
In December 2016, I sadly lost my younger brother Richard Hobart. He suffered mental health problems and had previously been diagnosed with clinical depression. Through no fault of his own, he became very ill extremely quickly with psychosis and depression and was unable to sleep for over 2 weeks. Although we visited his GP and took him to A&E several times, they were unable to provide him with the medication or support he urgently needed. I truly feel he could have been saved if he had been treated by a mental health expert quickly enough and not just prescribed some sleeping tablets, which was unable to touch the surface of how he was feeling.
In 2014, a staggering 6,581 suicides were recorded in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and approximately 80% of these were men. More needs to be done about it, so I would like to raise awareness of how dangerous mental illness can be. I propose to raise as much money as possible to prevent others from suffering the way my brother did.
He was a strong, caring and kind-hearted man whom I loved dearly. He had an amazing work ethic and had saved up over £15,000 for a deposit for him and his fiance's first home. He also loved the gym, was extremely committed, and physically very fit and strong. I'm doing this in my brother's name and I really hope everyone can get behind us on this to fund-raise for our local mental health charities.
Thank you so much in advance for your support, lets really make a difference and do my brother Richard proud!
