Story

Fundraising should be epic. It should inspire and create change. That’s why I’ve decided to attempt to climb Snowdon, not once, not twice, but FIVE times in 24 hours. Through this we hope to raise awareness and money for Wild Earth Movement and improve the lives of the people of Stourbridge." -Alex, RISE Fitness.

Wild Earth Movement does amazing work in the community. It is run by volunteers who give up their time to help make the planet a cleaner and greener place. We are raising money to support the incredible hard work they do so that they can keep offering free and low cost events to communities and schools and help with new conservation projects across the West Midlands.

I am literally in awe of what Alex and his team are going to attempt, I've done Snowdon a few times and once I'm down I definitely don't want to go up again. Pure mental and physical strength and resilience! I will be there for the whole day supporting Alex and Rise, and we are going to do a bit of a litter pick on Snowdon on the day too." - Hannah, Wild Earth Movement.

Climate change has been bought to the fore in the years of the pandemic, the gravity of its effects though are still under estimated. Whilst Climate change will be prevented and stopped through developments in technologies, there are things that we can do on a local, smaller level that will massively impact our current environment. Anything from collecting litter from the local area, making sure that we recycle, making sure that we have the facilities to trade without having to produce new materials all the time and finally through the use of renewable products.

Engaging our community and communities, is one of the most important undertakings of Wild Earth Movement. Especially the engagement of younger people whose generations follow through the actions initiated by our generation. Whilst innovation in a technological sense will help clear our air of carbon particles, it is the work of people like Hannah that will make a big difference on a local level. And we need a combined front to ensure a happy, safe, clean future.

RISE fitness is based in Stourbridge and ever since I started it six years ago, the emphasis has always been on creating a community. The definition of community to me, is a group of individuals with a shared interest of each other, ensuring happiness, that ambitions met and their environments are clean and safe. There are a lot of worthy causes in this world, but to actually make an impact on the local are in a really visible sense was the reason that I wanted to combine forces with Wild Earth Movement and make an impact for the residents of Stourbridge.

Please support this fundraiser and if you want to join in our Snowdon mission please get in touch via social media @risefitnessuk

The event will take place on the 18th June 2022, starting from the Main Snowdon Car Park.
