I've raised £1000 to take approximately 40 athletes to Liverpool to represent Cornwall in the Special Olympics Great Britain National Games 2021.

People with Learning Disabilities can achieve just the same as people with no disabilities. They may take that little bit longer, need more nurturing, a little extra support and encouragement, but they can achieve. They deserve to be the best that they can be: as individuals, as teams, as Special Olympians. Our aim at Special Olympics Cornwall is to build friendships, build confidence, and create athletes who believe in themselves as we believe in them. Help us to help them.
HOW YOUR DONATIONS CAN HELP
Liverpool will be hosting the 2021 Special Olympics Great Britain National Games. It will cost approximately £375 per athlete for 5 days food and accommodation at the venue. If SO Cornwall take 40 athletes to the games, that's a sum of £15,000.
SO Cornwall is run entirely by volunteers. If 20 volunteers accompany the athletes (this figure includes sports coaches, assistant coaches and carers) the cost for their food and accommodation amounts to £7,500.
TOGETHER that's a grand total of £22,500.
Athletes and volunteers will need kit for travelling, the opening and closing ceremonies, medal ceremonies and for competing.
There is also travel costs to and from Cornwall and Liverpool. (At the 2017 Games in Sheffield our party was made up of 32 athletes and 17 volunteers so only one bus was required.)
I WILL UPDATE THIS PAGE WITH COSTINGS as and when I have the information.
At this stage SOC is planning ahead for Liverpool 2021 and you can help make this happen.
THANK YOU!
