Story
Recently with the cost-of-living crisis people are finding it more and more difficult to spare any funds to donate not only to us but charities all over the world. Less donations of course mean that our rescue work is affected and covering all costs next to impossible. One of these costs is the electricity bills, bills which especially in the summer are extremely high. Not only the cost but having a shelter in a rural area means excessive load shedding hence the need to use generators which means having to pay for more fuel. Also, with the amount of load shedding that we are being subjected to means that the UPS cannot be used as a backup when there is no electricity. We are trying everything in our power to keep the rescues cool and safe at the shelter
Our current situation in regards to electricity is dire and we have no choice but to install solar panels at the shelter. These will not only reduce our electric costs but will mean that electricity will be readily available at all times. We are looking to install a 10kv system which will run all electric appliances at the shelter and reduce our electric bills significantly. We did reach out on social media with the hope that a solar company might install at a reduced rate or for free but sadly no luck. We have no choice but to reach out to our kind supporters for help. We rely solely upon donations from kind and generous supporters. We receive no grants or help from the government and all donations go towards helping these poor animals. Helping us to install a suitable system will mean that we will have more money spare to help more animals suffering on the streets
