Story

Somebody Cares is a leading charity that delivers and supports the most vulnerable in our wonderful city of Aberdeen. We have been delivering free food packages and household supplies to lower income families for years and we must be able to continue to do so. We have been inundated with requests for help from organisations and directly from those in need and we have a duty of care to help all those that rely on us.

The majority of our existing funding comes from our Megastore which sells up-cycled and pre-owned furniture, clothing and many household items. Due to the current pandemic, we have followed government guidelines and closed our doors. This has eliminated a significant portion of our income and the knock on effect of this is already negatively impacting the families in need that we help.

We believe that by raising this additional funding, this will help us alleviate the immediate hardship and suffering that the Corona Virus pandemic is causing to those that are already vulnerable and have no way of feeding their family. Many of the families that we help have fallen through the cracks of social care or government help and are desperate at this time and so grateful of the assistance that we give them.

Somebody Cares have had many calls from the public asking how they can help, which is why we have launched this cry for help with immediate effect. Please give as much or as little as you can afford and be assured that it will reach the point of need as soon as we receive your donation. This will help us and our volunteers to deliver food parcels to those most in need.

Please, please help us to help others.
