Elizabeth had close links to the Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards from their inception in 2010. These awards actively oppose discrimination, bullying and prejudice in any form. Elizabeth held these values close to her heart.
The Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards recognise the social conscience of inspirational young people who have demonstrated compassion for the lives of others in Somerset. The SAFYA committee are passionate volunteers and every penny raised acknowledges and rewards recipients to spread the fundamental message of promoting a more tolerant and humanitarian society for the young people of Somerset.
The awards are sponsored by a number of public and private bodies including Somerset County Council, District Councils of Mendip, Sedgemoor, South Somerset and Taunton Deane, Avon and Somerset Police, Taunton Deane and South Sedgemoor Methodist Circuit, Fairfield Trust, The George Heim Memorial Trust and private donors.
