Story
Covid 19 has delayed the 2020 London Marathon and people are being encouraged do things involving the numbers 2.6 and 26 . I wasn't running the event and I thought the number challenge looked interesting!
WHAT AM I DOING AND WHEN ?
• So I've set myself the challenge to RUN AT LEAST 2.6 MILES A DAY FOR 26 CONSECUTIVE DAYS starting when this year's Marathon would have began 09.30 SUNDAY 26TH APRIL 2020.
As is the norm, my dog will run with me.
WHY AM I DOING IT?
•Every day we hear about the lack of PPE for the NHS and it's workers dying by doing their job
•My brother is an ENT doctor who works in very close contact to Covid 19 patients
•One of my sister in law is a GP and the other a physiotherapist who every working day run the risk of being infected by the virus
• Friends past and present work or have family working within the NHS
•I want to play a part in ensuring they and all NHS workers have everything they need to remain safe whilst doing their jobs.
WHO AM I RAISING FUNDS FOR?
• MASKS FOR NHS HEROES CAMPAIGN
You can read about them at
https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/masks4nhsheroes.
but they are some Drs who are taking it upon themselves to purchase/provide personal protection equipment nationwide to the NHS
•This PPE isn't only for hospital Dr and nurses but also porters, cleaners, catering staff, healthcare assistants, radiographers, GPs, care home workers, ambulance service and NHS volunteers.
HOW MUCH AM I WANTING TO RAISE?
In keeping with number theme, I want to raise £2600.
Here is an idea what donations could provide
£150= enough FF3 respirator masks to look after 1 CV19 ITU patient for 1 day
£30=5 disposable 3M FF3 facemasks
£20= 1 complete resuable half face respirator
£15= 1 set scrubs
£10=1 box of 50 pairs disposable gloves/waterproof aprons
£5= 1 disposable field shield/ eye protection
If you would like to support me and in turn help support keeping NHS workers safe, PLEASE donate here.
Thank you and stay safe xxx Sonali
