I'm raising £5000 to support arts education opportunities for young people in Leigh

Story

Song for Leigh is a celebration of creativity, community and the incredible talent of young people across Leigh.

The project brought together a collective of young creatives from Leigh to write and record an original anthem about pride, opportunity and the future of their town. Co-written and developed with Leigh’s own chart-topping band Lottery Winners, the song was shaped through workshops where young people shared their experiences, hopes and ideas for Leigh.

From songwriting and recording to video production, design and performance, young people were involved at every stage of the creative process. For many, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to work alongside professional artists and experience the creative industries first-hand.

Leigh is full of talent, but opportunities in music, film and the arts can often feel out of reach for young people growing up here. Song for Leigh is part of a wider movement to open up creative opportunities, raise aspirations and ensure local voices are seen and heard.

We are raising money for the Gill David Arts Trust, a local charity supporting arts education and creative opportunities for young people under 25 in Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley. Donations will help provide access to creative activities, equipment and opportunities that might not otherwise be available locally.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help support the next generation of young creatives and keep projects like Song for Leigh alive for years to come.

Thank you for supporting creativity, community and young people in Leigh.
