300 Children, 8 Schools, 1 Voice

The Orme Academy in partnership with numerous primary schools in the local area and beyond will be taking part in a community-based singing project called Songbook 2020.

Stop, camera, action! Our virtual on-line singing project will see students singing the Disney classic – ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin.

As well as providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents during the festive season, the aim of the project is to raise money and support local food banks via the JustGiving charity foundation.

Many families have been significantly affected by the recent pandemic and many more will feel even more vulnerable as Christmas approaches.

The fabulous song will be performed by a group of young people who are committed to making a difference. They will be singing their hearts out to raise money for a worthwhile cause. The money raised will be split between Newcastle-under-Lyme and Alsager foodbanks.

We hope that the local community will join us on our 'magic carpet ride' and hopefully with the help and talent of the students, we can strive towards creating a 'whole new world’ in 2021.
