Story

On the 26 October 2016 Emily was diagnosed with incurable ovarian cancer.

It was on the 12 August 2015 during a minor op the cancer was first diagnosed.  Following the diagnosis Emily has undergone two operations, one of them being 7 hours long, together with Chemo, but unfortunately during her second operation on the 26th October 2016 we were told the cancer was incurable.

Emily accepted the doctor’s diagnosis and instead of bowing down and let the cancer beat her she has taken the challenge head on and remains positive continuing her fight with Cancer. Emily has great strength, courage and is a true inspiration to me, family and friends; in fact my family and I live in awe of her.

Life was good for Emily until her sudden confrontation with Cancer.  Emily is a serving member of the Royal Air Force as an Air Stewardess and has travelled to various countries including Afghanistan bringing home injured service men.  Although she is now medically downgraded, due to her illness, she is determined to keep working until such time as she is unable to.

Recently, myself and other family members undertook a challenge and walked 26 miles across the Cotswold to raise money for McMillian.  Emily was determined to play her part and joined us for the last 7 miles.

It was always Emily’s ambition to travel to New York in the next few years and this remains high on her bucket list.  Due to the uncertainty of Emily’s cancer, planning to go in few years may be too far in the future.  I am therefore requesting help to make this trip a reality for Emily in 2018.  I am a single parent and although I am in full time employment I would struggle to find the funds within this short timescale. I really need your help to achieve this. Every pound you can offer to reach my target would be greatly appreciated and would mean the world to Emily.
