Story

I am organising an event in Bristol on 21st August 2022 and on the day we will be hoping to raise awareness of the importance of dog rescue and hopefully raising some desperately needed funds for the charity. On the day we will be holding a raffle* to raise much needed funds - there are some amazing prizes so don't delay in buying your ticket!

This cause is particularly close to my heart as Dogs Friends saved my rescue Lurcher, Tegan from a very sad case in 2017 - although I didn’t really rescue Tegan, she rescued me and five years later we keep each other going. I now volunteer to help other dogs like her find their happy place in the world. This is a cause I genuinely believe in and I hope that events like this will help bring other people into the world of dog rescue.

Dogs Friends is a small, volunteer led charity based in the South West, primarily taking in dogs from breeding backgrounds, found abandoned, surrendered by owners and other sad situations. We have seen a huge surge in dogs being handed in over the last two years. This, combined with the limited opportunities to fundraise due to Covid-19 have had a big impact but we are hoping things get better for us this year. You can read more about what we do here: https://dogsfriends.me.uk/

* The raffle will be drawn on 21st August 2022 at The White Horse in Hambrook. Tickets must be purchased by an adult and can be purchased beforehand online (via Just Giving with online ticket) or in person on the day (cash and paper ticket). The results will be announced by 3pm on the day and winners will be notified within 24 hours.
