I’m raising £3,500 to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia. As one of the four leaders from unit 67, providing a safe yet exciting experience for the 36-young people in our care.
I am excited and honoured to be have been selected by West Sussex Scouts to be a part of the UK contingent for the 24th World Scout Jamboree.
Jointly hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts of Canada and the Scout Association of Mexico, the Jamboree will take place from the 22nd July to the 2nd August 2019 at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.
I will be working with the rest of the Contingent to raise over £3,500 each over the next 18 months. The fee will contribute to my attendance at the event but also contributes to Scouts from other less fortunate countries allowing them to attend, supporting the aim of the Jamboree ‘Unlock a New World’.
I am currently planning fundraising activities - bag packing, cake sales, grant letter writing and looking for challenges to complete in 2018 - watch this space for more details (and feel free to send me your suggestions).
The World Scout Jamboree is a unique, international adventure shaped by young people. By attending as part of the UK contingent, we will be able to have a positive impact not only on Scouting but also our local community.
If you are inspired by the potential of the World Scout Jamboree to enhance and develop the skills of the next generation, we invite you to contribute to our fundraising by donating.
You can follow what the West Sussex units are up to on their social media channels or website https://unit67.wswsj.org.uk/2017/11/where-is-the-jamboree/
All donations gratefully received - thank you for your support (if you'd rather donate offline please do get in touch!).
