Story

I'm dusting off my racing shoes after 8 years (you might remember the Mad Marathon du Medoc) to take on my first Ultra Marathon - the 50km Hundred Hill Challenge - billed in their words as "an extremely challenging event"!

Right up my street, eh??? Well, I knew my lovely supporters wouldn't settle for anything less than something special! This 80% off-road race takes in 4,000 feet of ascent and 4,000 feet of descent - the equivalent of running up and down Ben Nevis... but over 50km! Its going to be so worth it as it's for a cause close to my heart - my very own Teddington community - I hope you'll help me along my way!

I love Teddington and it's brilliant community. I'm proud to serve on the Teddington Parish Council. So many of the initiatives that my family and I have been part of have been led by the church, like the absolutely brilliant Community Cafe - which brings the old and the young together weekly and links those in need with all the support groups available in our community. Sadly this really popular weekly activity can't happen in the church - because the 800 year old building has no toilets, not even the basic facilities to offer refreshments.

I'd like to raise £2K towards the £1m needed to build these vital facilities in our community, including:

1) Accessible toilets with baby changing facilities.

2) A Multi-use space for community activities, School visits and Childrens' Church.

3) A small kitchenette to offer drinks and simple refreshments.

4) A step-free entrance - to enable easy access for all to the new space.

After 4 hard years of planning the project has the green light from the council and all we need now is the money to make it happen and before the planning permission runs out (so no pressure then...).

All information on the project can be found here but please feel free to ask me about it too! https://www.teddingtonparish.org/building-anew/

Every penny and pound you can spare will go directly to this cause.

Well, there it is! A gruelling 6 hours and 57 minutes spent hiking up and down the most stunning Chilterns countryside with my most brilliant Ultra nut friend Vic! The hundred hills didn’t disappoint and the mud was soooo deep but IT WAS SO WORTH IT! Thanks to you, I will be transferring a total of over £2,250 to help make St Mary w St Alban accessible to all. Thank you for supporting me over the hills and a cause that will make a tangible difference my community! 😘 now time for a shower as I’ve carried half the Chilterns home with me 😂
