Story
Those who know me know that my role is a leaving care personal advisor. My job is an extremely difficult one. I support care leavers once they reach the age of 18 and help to transition those children usually into independent living.
A looked after child becomes a care leaver on their 18th birthday and everything changes, they transition from children's services which are readily available to adult services which result in long waiting times and sometimes those people who have been receiving a service as a child do not fit the criteria for the adult service leaving them with a PA like myself to support them. We are sometimes the only people in these young people's lives.
We as a team have decided to make a change but it will solely rely on donations.
We would be grateful for any donation towards the future plans that we as a team would like to do with the young people that we work with.
We would firstly like to try and provide each careleaver with a Christmas gift.
Looking into 2019 we would like to arrange activities to challenge the young people that we work with to achieve goals and put their minds to activities.
We will be looking to complete a climb of mount snowdon to start in April 2019.
Any donation is greatly appreciated.
