I will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon for The Faringdon Sensory Garden Project, which involves the building of a community Sensory Garden to commemorate the centenary of WW1 in 2018. The Project is taking over a derelict piece of land in Faringdon with the aim of bringing a safe, welcoming and beautiful area to spend time for the whole community. It is particularly aimed at those who suffer from Alzheimer's, and their caretakers - a place to take a break from the daily stress of dealing with such a consuming disease for both the suffer and the carer. There will be many features in the garden that incorporate the senses, and flowers and plants incorporating the stories of overseas service men during WW1, that were from Faringdon. It is not only something that will bring life into the community, but also a sign of respect to those who fought, and continue to fight, in order to keep us safe.
